car insurance - pah!

Hugely delighted and proud when my 17 yr old daughter passed her driving test first time around ( she was threatened with adoption if she didn't) and so i excitedly phoned my insurance company to add her as a named driver - how hard can that be? turns out it's really easy but it will cost....wait for it.......£3,700 yes you read that correctly £3,700!!!!!!!!!!!

It must be because i  drive a lambourghini or an aston martin sports car - NO it's an 8yr old Citroen

i phoned around stunned at the original quote and promptly got another quote for £7.000 - are you kidding me?

the law has changed recently in favour of equality so that boys and girls are treated the same so how about changing the law on ageism!

every single quote has been followed up with " well until they're at least 25 then you will pay a premium"

what makes it worse is everybody else i speak to in the same position with newly passed teenagers, proudly tell me that they added their kid on for a fiver or that their premiums are £70 quid for everyone to be covered including the bloody dog by the sounds of it

is there a conspiracy or are people just bullshitting me - all i know is that the bus service is still going to be used for some time to come

aaargh
